Acrylic pouring experiment

After unit 1, I've tried experimenting with colour and texture that are unable to control through acrylic pouring. I have noticed that some part of the acrylic layers resembled that of a human body. Combined with silicone oil, the part which called cells would pop up on the surface by concentrating heat to that point. The flowing part of the mixing colour almost look like wrinkles and folds of the skin.

The process maybe different from drawing with charcoal, yet the part where the drawing started to grow remains the same. I still focus on the less colour possible at first with just black and white to understand how much the flow could be controlled. (Some of the artwork were left at the studio and I missed the chance of documenting those artworks at the moment.)

After some experiments to get to know the material, I used Red colouring to add contrasts to the monotone painting. Internal organs colour are mostly red-tone, so with the colour red added to the artwork, It almost like I am pulling the inside out again. Folding layers and layers of internal skin of human body and pulled it outside.

While the other experiments below gives out different feeling, somehow the artwork itself is still giving me the feeling of folding layers of skins on top of itself again and again. I use the same method on the one on the left but after pouring layers of acrylic in black and white, I concentrate the red colour on the wet painting. While the colour grows, it pushed all the layers around it aside. Piercing through again and again even when the artwork is drying. The part around the red also fought back and slip through some of the boarder. It's almost feel like I'm witnessing a living organism fighting for their survival.

I also try to create the layer of organs in fluidity. By pouring internal organs first and then folded the structure back on top of it. After the layering process is completed, I start tilting the artwork to distort the body that I have created. Let it change the shape of the body on its own. The result comes out that some parts expanded out consuming others, while some reducing itself and go along with the fold.

I tried to play with the stretched canvas by tapping the backside of it. The sound that came out almost feel like a beating heart. The artwork also reacted to the sound as it is tapped. It's almost feel like there is some organ below trying to burst out of the layered skin.
