STATEMENT

My practices dealt chiefly with the human body, both the interior and the exterior. By observing both the inside and outside of the body then expand the details that the audiences did not expected to see. Reconstructing it to create a new form of bodily elements. The forms beneath the skin; bones, tendons, glands, are starting to representing something else rather than what they once was. What is once internal starting to transform into the external. Inner becomes outer. The work asks us to look again at the human form, a new visual of the body is created that both attracts and repulses the glance of the eyes.

Through charcoal drawing, acrylic pouring and sculpture I carefully observed my body both physically and mentally then visualise and expand what I have experienced through the observation. Exaggerate the  idea that has been found and present it onto the media that I choose. Unveiling the unseen part of myself to the eyes.

By doing this the work seeks to examine how far the human body perception can be evolves through drawing practice. To see if  this new ‘body’ which generate from part of human body can visualise the internal and external concept of my body. Whether it is mental state, physical abnormalities, hypochondriac symptoms or the unseen feeling beneath the skin. I also uses black and white colour on the artwork as a way to focus on form, volume, contrast, and depth. With the less colour possible, the contrasty of each details can be shown more clearers along with the details of the artwork that can be observe more carefully with the eyes.
